Four Full Moons is a pixelated horror game where YOU are the horror!

A neophyte vampire disowned by his Maker, your goal is to perform the Veil of Darkness Ritual before the fourth full moon takes place. You win if you do it. Should you fail, your body and soul will turn to ashes.

You can collect all five Ritual ingredients by performing vampiric misdeeds. But be careful! Actions have consequences. Let you infamy grow too high and a mob of angry peasants will set out to capture you. Let the local militia grow too strong and they will attack you. Let your thirst grow too much and your body and soul will turn to ash.

Gameplay

In-game days take place in two phases: day time and night time. You will be able to perform one action per phase based on the cards you're dealt. The game begins with a new moon and each full moon cycle runs for eight days, so a full playthrough takes 32 days.

The game follows a mafia/werewolf logic. You will pick it up very quickly if you're familiar with social deduction games. Certain townspeople play special roles. For instance, the veteran can train people for the militia (bad for you), the alchemist runs a shop (good for you), and the snoop can provide you valuable information regarding one of the Ritual ingredients, but will cause you to accrue more infamy if she hears you attacking somebody else. 

Attacking certain people or destroying specific facilities will therefore trigger consequences that might make your goal easier or harder to reach. Make sure you plan your actions carefully--or not! Maybe you can just go on a killing spree and get lucky! Every playthrough is different. :)

Game status

This game has a fair bit of content already, but I would say it's still at a fairly barebones stage. I have more ideas for the kind of actions you can perform and for different in-game minipuzzles. 

A lot of the art is from free sources (there are quite a few sources, so I haven't managed to collect them all yet--credits to the authors coming!).

The game is made to be downloadable and to run in Windows. I also provide a browser version because otherwise not many people will play it. Expect the downloadable version to perform better, though. :)

Also, you're bound to find some bugs. Please let me know if you do.
